Brodix inked as title sponsor for Deery Series Silver Anniversary ShootoutMENA, Ark. (Feb. 10) – One of the longest tenured sponsors of the IMCA tour has signed on as title sponsor for the Deery Brothers Summer Series Silver Anniversary Shootout.
Brodix, manufacturer of the official cylinder heads for IMCA Late Models, will provide the point fund for that special race, to be held Sept. 16 during the Yankee Dirt Track Classic at Farley Speedway.
All Deery Series champions from 1987-2010, as well as the current tour point leader, and national champions from 1987-2011 are guaranteed starting spots in the $1,000 to win event. Past champs will compete with a special silver roof touting the Brodix sponsorship throughout the upcoming season.
"This will be a very special event and there is a strong chance all 25 years of Deery champions will be represented in the race,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. “It is incredible to think that would be possible, and a big reason why so many of our former champions are still racing competitively is due to the consistent support from Brodix over the years. When you add the national champions, it will be a must-see event for all Late Model fans."
In its 15th season as an IMCA sponsor, the Mena, Ark., company will give cylinder head sets to series and national champions and rookies of the year.
All competitors in the division and series are required to display two Brodix decals on their race cars. Rookie contenders also have an Aug. 1 deadline to return a registration form, to be published in the point section of the Inside IMCA newsletter beginning this month.
The national point season for Late Models begins Friday, April 22 and continues through Sunday, Aug. 28. There are 19 race dates scheduled for the Deery Series, which opens Saturday, April 2 at Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway.
Ray Guss Jr. capped a career-highlight filled season with titles in both the series and nationally, while Andy Eckrich doubled as Deery and national rookie of the year.
