Moyle rallies to fifth in Perth, prepares for next meeting at the King of the Ring at Atwell Park

PERTH, WA - Jason Moyle Racing (JMR) made the two hour journey along the Perth-Bunbury highway, to compete in the R2C Pro Dirt Late Model Series at the Perth Motorplex. This would be just their third meeting in the new Rayburn which had been quick, but due to a flat tyre (Bunbury) and carby issues (Manjimup) the team had been unable to finish a feature.

The feature race would show not only the ability of the driver but just how quick the Moyle Engines/Rayburn car was when Jason charged from 14th to fifth during the feature.

Throughout the night the team were kept busy trying to find the right set up. For the feature the car would be tight and a harder left rear tyre was put on, this allowed Moyle to run the down on the curb. It paid off, Jason ran the bottom all race and passed a lot of fast guys to record the top five finish.

“The team worked hard all night and this is just a reward of their efforts” said Jason Moyle.

“It was such a good quality field, starting back in the field we had to pass these guys. By the end of the race I was on the bumper of Michael Holmes (fourth), so if we had another couple of laps we might have challenged for that spot as well” Moyle enthused.

Jason’s heat results were mixed, in the first heat he would finish in fourth after starting fourth, with the second heat starting positions being reversed from the first heat he would start out of seven. Track conditions which had became slick caught out the Bunbury based racer who would spin, the caution lights wouldn’t come on and he would go down a lap and cross the line in ninth.

Looking ahead the team will now prepare to head to Atwell Park in Albany for the King Of The Ring on the 19th February.
