Kyle Beard Set For Pelican 100; Welcomes New Sponsor

Trumann, AR (02/22/11) – Business is picking up at the Beard Motorsports shop as the team is busily preparing its #86 Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Samuels Performance Racing Engine Super Late Model for the upcoming weekend's inaugural Pelican 100 at Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana).

Last Saturday afternoon, Kyle made the last minute decision to enter the Winterfest event at Winchester Speedway (Winchester, Tennessee). Thirty-six Super Late Models entered the $3,000 to win event, and in heat race action, Beard raced his way to a third place finish, which locked him into the 12th starting spot for the feature event. In the feature, Kyle would quickly work his way toward the front of the pack getting as high as the fifth spot in the opening laps. However, a few laps later he would slip into the loose material on the high side of the track causing his right rear to glaze and him to lose several spots. He would slip as far back as 15th before mounting a late race charge back to a solid 11th place finish.

This weekend, February 24th-26th, the team is slated to make its inaugural trip to Gene Boyter's Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, Louisiana for the 1st Annual Pelican 100. The $10,000 to win/$800 to start event gets underway on Thursday with an Open Practice Session. Friday will see time trials and heat race action, while on Saturday b-mains, and the 100 lap finale will be held. For more information on the event, please visit www.ArkLaTexSpeedway.com .
