FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

UFo Rules Update Notice

(MARS PA) - In accordance with recent national series rules updates, UFo Race Championship car rules have been adjusted to reflect these changes. Additional clarification of GM CT525 motor rules and other items have also been specified.

Fender flare measurements have been slightly increased for Unlimited, Steel Block and Spec Motor cars from the previous measurement of 2", and decreased 1" at the top of the fenders for GM CT525 cars. While UFo rules have always specified that cars must be full bodied, additional minimum rear quarterpanel specifications have been listed to prevent partial quarterpanels. Body panels may not have holes, gaps, slots, etc. The use of expensive titanium in suspension and chasses components will not be permitted as well as the use of titanium or carbon fiber brake rotors.

Clarification of the GM CT525 motor rules will require that the parts that are shipped with the motor remain OEM except the valve cover and breather system. E-85 is a legal fuel under UFo rules.

Competitors are reminded that the UFo deck height rule is not an average deck height rule, but an absolute measurement. If any point of the deck is over 40", the body will not be legal.

The following rules have been adjusted:

1. MOTOR
GM CT525 - Absolutely no modification of any internal engine part. Breather system and valve cover MAY be modified. All other motor parts included with the motor as shipped from GM must remain OEM and may NOT be modified including valve springs, push rods, harmonic balancers, rocker arms etc.

3. FUEL
E-85-OK.

12. SUSPENSION
No titanimum suspenson or chasiss components.

13. BRAKES
No titanium or carbon fiber rotors.

14. BODY
All body panels must be solid-no holes, gaps, slots, etc. Top to bottom of rear quarterpanel must extend to rear of deck. Rear quarterpanels must extend downward from deck minimum 35" to all points, including skirt.
40" maximum deck height at rear at all points regardless of tilted angle of body, WITH NO TOLERANCE!

16. NOSEPIECE, FENDER FLARES AND HOOD.
Front fender flares may extend maximum 3" above the top of fender and 4" above the sloped nosepiece panel.
