The 2011 Carolina Clash Rookie of the Year class is announced

The Carolina Clash would like to announce its Rookie of the Year candidates for 2011 which includes Travis Yow, Chad Paxton, and Arlene Pittman. "This year's Rookie class in the Carolina Clash is going to be one of the most competitive Rookie classes we have ever had" said Larry Lee Jr. Owner of the Carolina Clash.

Travis Yow is from Fayetteville, N.C. and has been racing for over a decade already in various divisions. Travis won his first championship over a decade ago in 2000 when he won the WKA Grand National Championship which is the World Karting Association. This is one of the most prestigious Karting championships in the world to win and Travis won the title at just 10 years of age.

Travis then migrated to full size stock cars during the next decade and won the 2008 Fayetteville Motor Speedway track championship for Open Wheel Modifieds. Then in 2010, Travis decided to make the big jump from Limited Late Models to Super Late Models when he raced with the Carolina Clash. Travis was able to place 7th at Dublin Speedway in his Limited Late Model against the Super Late Models of the Carolina Clash. This is when Travis made the decision to get a full blown super motor and run a couple more Carolina Clash towards the end of the season.

Yow has shown he has what it takes already to win Carolina Clash races and he'll be not only a Rookie of the Year contender in 2011 but also a championship contender for the overall point's championship.

Chad Paxton has some of the most hands on racing knowledge of any competitor in any series as Chad currently works for Red Bull Racing as a brake system specialist. With the vast knowledge and experience Chad has gained through working with a top level NASCAR team, he knows what it takes to win races and championships.

Last season, Chad won 12 out of the 21 races he entered and was able to capture the championship at I-77 Speedway in South Carolina in the Limited Late Model division. Chad has also been crowned Late Model Champion at Lancaster Speedway in 2006 and 2007.

Chad has decades of experience racing at all levels along with his NASCAR experience and Chad will be a contender for both the Rookie of the Year title and the overall Carolina Clash championship. Be on the lookout for his #16 super late model as he charges to the top.

Arlene Pittman will be the first ever woman to compete on the Carolina Clash tour for an entire season. Arlene resides from southern G.A. and will be making the trip up to attend as many Carolina Clash events in 2011 as possible.

Arlene has raced everything there is on both asphalt and dirt and has made some of the biggest races held in the southeast on dirt. Arlene hopes to show woman that they can race in the highest forms of auto racing and wants to give hope to young women across the country that if they can dream it, they can accomplish it. Arlene is an accomplished race car driver that will make her impression felt on the Carolina Clash in 2011.

The Carolina Clash also has a few other drivers in talks to run for Rookie of the Year in 2011 but no other drivers have confirmed. Travis, Chad, and Arlene are the only 3 drivers currently confirmed to be running for the Rookie of the Year.
