Boyd's Friday 3/11 Portion of Shamrock Weekend Cancelled - Cleveland Still A GoThe $5,000 to win Shamrock Tune-Up scheduled for Friday night March 11th at Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia has been cancelled due to flooding at the track.
"With all the rain we've had over the past couple of weeks and the fact that many parts of the track and the infield are currently under water and with even more rain in the forecast, there is just no way we can get the track ready for Friday night" stated Boyd's Track Promoter Gar D'son on Wednesday afternoon.
Track and Series officials are currently working together to re-schedule the event and will hopefully have an announcement today or tomorrow.
In the meantime, Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, Tennessee is moving forward with plans to run the $10,000 to win Sixteenth Annual Shamrock on Saturday night, March 12th.
"Since Boyd's is now cancelled we have decided to move our Thursday practice to Friday night now" stated Cleveland Speedway Track Promoter Monty Morrow. All drivers in all divisions are welcome to participate.
Cleveland Speedway will now become the 2011 season opener for Southern AllStars and will now be a stand-alone $10,000 to win single night show. Pit gates are scheduled to open at 3:00pm with the drivers meeting around 6:00pm and racing thereafter.
