Klint Byars Opens 2011 With Strong Performance; Magnolia Next

Carrollton, Mississippi (03/22/11) –Klint Byars opened his season in his #5 Southern Belle/K&K Motorsports/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model in the 1st Annual Cash Cow 100 at Columbus Speedway as he served notice that he will be a factor in 2011.

Klint opened his 2011 campaign on Friday night in strong company as entered the 1st Annual Cash Cow 100 at Columbus Speedway (Columbus, MS). The night didn't start so well for Klint as he struggled in qualifying, which left him starting seventh in a heat race that was chalked full of national talent in the World of Outlaws Super Late Model event. However, Byars would mount a great run in his heat race as he advanced to a third place finish in the 15 lap race. Via his finish, Klint will start 10th in Saturday night's $20,000 to win/100 lap feature. On Saturday night Byars would find the going to be rough early in the 100 lap event as mechanical issues found after Friday night's program continued to plague the young driver early in the race, and he would retire at lap 10 to a 24th place finish. Despite not getting the finish that he would've liked, Klint was extremely pleased with his performance against the nation's best drivers and will look to carry his momentum into the upcoming events.

The next event on tap for Byars is a Weekly Racing Series Event this Saturday, March 26th at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi). Klint earned his lone feature win of 2010 at the facility known for its "Black Ice" surface, and he will be looking for his first win of 2011 at the facility.
