NCRA Late Models Now Under DIRTcar BannerFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas – March 25, 2011 - Officials with the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Smiley’s Racing Products have announced that the series late model division will be DIRTcar sanctioned for the 2011 race season.
“We really feel like this is the way to go with our late model division,” said Chris Smith, competition director for the series.”Not only will our drivers earn contingency and point fund with us but will obtain the same with the DIRTcar series as well. This is really a good deal we have been working on since last year.”
Smith and DIRTcar director Sam Driggers first met in May of last year during the “Showdown in the Heartland II” with the MARS DIRTcar series and discussed the idea throughout the tour. Several meetings took place, including one with NCRA president C Ray Hall during the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma back in January. Then just last week, contracts were drawn and signed with the official announcement being made Tuesday.
Nothing will change for the late model division, now known as the NCRA of Park City, Kansas late model division presented by Smiley’s Racing Products DIRTcar series, as it will be business as usual for the 28th season. The 2011 campaign is set to kick off its eighteen race schedule on Saturday night, April 2th at The Great American Dirt Track in Jetmore, Kansas during the second annual, $10,000 to win “Sunflower State Showdown.”
The NCRA will be the tenth late model tour to campaign under the DIRTcar banner. To learn more about the DIRTcar series, including all benefits available, check out their website
