Inclement Weather postpones Opening Night 2011
Rescheduled for Friday, April 1 . . . No foolin’!

Sarver, PA (March 24, 2011) A mid-afternoon thunderstorm poured over an inch of rain on the Action Track yesterday, snow is falling on it today and tomorrow’s forecast calls for a high temperature just north of freezing and low temperatures in the 20s by race time. The sum total of Mother Nature’s wrath has forced Lernerville Speedway General Manager Gary Risch Jr. to postpone Opening Night until next week on Friday, April 1.

As scheduled, Budweiser Points will start next Friday Night as Danny Holtgraver in the Ti22 Sprints, Dave Hess Jr. in the Precise Late Models, Kevin Bolland in the Diehl Mods and Joe Kelley in the Pic-A-Part Sportsman start the long and winding road towards defending the 2010 Budweiser Track Championships.

Pits and main gates open at 5:00. Hot laps begin at approximately 7:00, with heat race action following the National Anthem at 7:30 SHARP. Pit prices are $20 for DIRTcar members and $30 for non-members. General Admission prices remain unchanged from 2011; Adults $14, Seniors $10, Students (ages 11-17) $7, and as always children under 10 are admitted FREE.

Fab Four Racing is scheduled for first four Friday Nights in April with the All Star Late Model Series rolling into Sarvertown to close out the month on Friday, April 29. DIRTcar Pro (crate) Late Models and UMP Modifieds will share the card that night. You can see and print the entire 2011 Lernerville schedule on our website www.Lernerville.com.

UFo 2011 Tour Now Blasts Off At Tyler County on April 9

(MARS PA) - Extremely cold weather has forced the cancellation of the UFo "Chiller Thriller" at Mercer Raceway Park for March 26 as well as the March 27 rain date. The 2011 UFo Race Championship Tour will now begin with the $4,000 to win "Topless 51" on Saturday night, April 9 at the Tyler County Speedway.

The FASTRAK pro-Late Models, TSMA E-mods, TSMA Hot Mods, Mod-Lites, Eco-Flyer 4-cylinders and junior-age Mini-Wedges will also be on the racing program.

‘Party in Pevely’ at I-55 Raceway Falls to Freezing, Rainy Weather Outlook

PEVELY, Mo. - March 24, 2011 - Mother Nature just simply won't cooperate with the DIRTcar Roundup, better known as the Party in Pevely. After moving the event to March 24-26 at I-55 Raceway as a kick off to the DIRTcar UMP Racing season, officials have decided today that the weather outlook, which includes everything from freezing temperatures and snow flurries to rain, won't allow the event to be run this weekend.

The event designed to give the weekly warriors in eight divisions of DIRTcar UMP Racing - an event that was a vision of UMP founder Bob Memmer - launched in October 2008. Since then, the event has been impacted negatively by weather conditions.

Officials will explore options to relaunch the Party in Pevely. For those with reserved pit spots, call the track at 636-479-3219.

The 2011 season at I-55 Raceway will begin Saturday, April 2, with DIRTcar UMP Late Models, DIRTcar UMP Modifieds, DIRTcar UMP Sportsman and DIRTcar UMP Pro 4 Stocks.

Rainout Leads To Even Bigger Return Engagement To Screven Motor Speedway For World of Outlaws Late Model Series
Promoter Redd Griffin Posts $12,000 Top Prize For Rescheduled ‘Winter Freeze’ Event On Nov. 1 or 2

SYLVANIA, GA – March 26, 2011 – Saturday night’s World of Outlaws Late Model Series program at Screven Motor Speedway was washed out by strong spring storms, but the cancelation will bring an even bigger return engagement for the national tour.

Screven promoter Redd Griffin reached an agreement with WoO LMS officials to reschedule the circuit’s annual visit to the three-eighths-mile oval for Nov. 1 or 2. Griffin will also pump up the A-Main’s first-place prize to $12,000, creating a huge lead-in to the season-ending World Finals on Nov. 3-5 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.

The new date for Screven’s WoO LMS event is tentatively set for Wed., Nov. 2 – the same evening for which Griffin previously rescheduled his ‘Winter Freeze’ program, a doubleheader featuring dirt Late Models and the O’Reilly All-Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Car Series that was rained out last month. Griffin will reset the WoO LMS card to Tues., Nov. 1, however, if wet weather would force the World of Outlaws Showdown on Oct. 12 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte to be postponed to Nov. 2 in conjunction with the World Finals.

Saturday night’s postponement decision came around 7:45 p.m. when a second round of heavy rain struck the facility. Screven officials had just allowed support division cars to begin running in the racing surface, which was hit with a shorter shower several hours earlier.

More than 30 dirt Late Model teams were in the pit area for Saturday’s action.

“Redd Griffin and his staff did everything they could to run Saturday night’s show for the racers and fans who came out despite the weather forecast,” said WoO LMS director Tim Christman. “Unfortunately we couldn’t beat Mother Nature, but Redd suggested running his rescheduled ‘Winter Freeze’ event under the World of Outlaws Late Model Series banner and we were thrilled to work with him to make it happen.

“The World of Outlaws Late Model Series is honored to be associated with a promoter like Redd Griffin who’s so willing to step up and give the teams and fans a big end-of-the-year event. We’re looking forward to returning to Screven Motor Speedway in November for a race that will play a critical role in determining the 2011 series champion.”

The WoO LMS is scheduled to complete its weekend in the Southeast on Sunday night (March 27) with a first-ever trip to Needmore Speedway in Norman Park, Ga. A 40-lap A-Main paying $8,000 to win tops the evening’s agenda.

For more information on the WoO LMS, visit www.worldofoutlaws.com.
