PPMS Test and Tune Session Scheduled for April 2ndPITTSBURGH, PA - March 28, 2011 -The 2011 racing season at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway will get underway on Saturday, April 2nd with the annual "Test and Tune" Session that is slated to begin at 3:00PM.
"Mother Nature seems to have forgotten that it is race season as we had a hail storm, heavy rains, unseasonably colder temperatures and even a few snowflakes last week," commented track owner Matt Miley. "Based on the amount of rain that was received last Wednesday and the frigid temperatures this past Saturday we felt it was in the best interest of the race fans and competitors to postpone the Test and Tune until this weekend. The teams have far too much money invested in their equipment and we certainly did not want them to have any mechanical problems as a result of the cold temperatures."
Grandstand and Pit Admission gates will open at 2:00PM for the Test and Tune Session with practice to take place from 3:00PM to 6:00PM. Grandstand Admission is Free and Pit Admission is priced at $25.00.
The quest for the 2011 PPMS Points Titles will get underway on Saturday, April 9th with a six division Action Event. The program features the Hoosier Tire Mid Atlantic DIRTcar Super Late Models, Brougher's Machine Shop FASTRAK/Pro-Lates, Miley Truck and RV Rental DIRTcar UMP E-Mods, Sunoco Race Fuels DIRTCar Cadets, Miley BP Car Wash DIRTcar Hobby Stocks and Imperial Heights Garage DIRTcar Young Guns.

In addition to our weekly Action Events; we have several top touring series' (UFo, ULMS, UEMS, FASTRAK Northeast, the Tri State Modified Association, Modified Tour and ARDC Midgets) on the schedule this season. The Winged Super Sprints will also be in action at Dirt's Monster Half Mile three times in 2011 on Sunday, June 26th, Saturday, August 20th and Saturday, September 17th. This will enable area fans to see some of the premier drivers in our region without having to spend any additional money on travel," stated speedway owner, Matt Miley.
