NeSMITH CHEVROLET WEEKLY RACING SERIES WEEK 1 PREVIEW

CARTERSVILLE, GA – The 2011 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series opens this weekend with 12 races scheduled in six states. There are seven races scheduled in the West Region, and five races scheduled for the Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region. Inclement weather has already washed out three events.

Included in the OMG East Region events is the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring event on Saturday night at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN that will award Regional Bonus Points.

Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS will open the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region competition this Friday night. West Region Friday night races at Malden Speedway in Malden, MO and Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR have already been called off due to heavy rains during the week.

NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Saturday races will be held at Centerville Speedway in Centerville, AR, Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS, Drew County Speedway in Monticello, AR, and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS. Johnny Stokes of Columbus, MS is the defending NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion.

The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region will present Saturday night events at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL, New Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

Heavy rain during the week has cancelled the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region opener on Friday night at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL. Chase Edge of Lafayette, AL is the defending NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region Champion.

Smoky Mountain Speedway will host the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Tour for a 50-lap $2,500-to-win race on Saturday night. All drivers competing in the event will receive 25 Regional Bonus Points in their home Region.

Results and the point standings for the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 1 action will be posted on Monday afternoon in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Round Up.
