Let’s do lunch: Deery Brothers, Karsyn’s Krusaders, IMCA and Fareway combine for ‘Partnering For A Purpose‘ cookouts before six Deery Brothers Summer Series events

MAQUOKETA, Iowa (April 11) – Fans following the silver anniversary Deery Brothers Summer Series are getting a standing invitation to lunch before six of the IMCA Late Model tour events.

Driver Charlie McKenna of Clear Lake will have his grill car, an otherwise IMCA legal Late Model with a grill replacing the fuel cell, at Deery dealerships for 11 a.m.-1 p.m. cookouts. Local Fareway stores will provide the complimentary pork loins, hot dogs, potato chips and bottled water.

The first ‘Partnering For A Purpose’ cookout is Saturday, April 16 at Brad Deery Motors in Maquoketa, preceding that evening’s Deery Series program at Jackson County Speedway. Future cookout dates are:
•June 29 at Dan Deery Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Waterloo, in conjunction with the event at Independence Motor Speedway;
•July 12 at Deery Brothers Ford Lincoln in Iowa City, when the series is at West Liberty Raceway;
•July 26 at Pella Motors in Pella, when the series is at Knoxville Raceway;
•Aug. 15 at Deery Brothers Chevrolet in Pleasant Hill, when the series headlines the annual Iowa State Fairgrounds Speedway program in Des Moines;
•Sept. 3 at Deery Brothers of West Burlington. The $10,000 to win Pepsi USA Nationals feature is that evening at 34 Raceway

“No matter what direction fans are driving from, we want them to stop at the dealership, have lunch and meet the people that sponsor their racing and see the new products that are available to them before they go to the race that night,” Tour Director Kevin Yoder said. “This is another great way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of this series.”

Approximately 60 pork loins can be grilled at the same time. Corky Feuerbach of Ackley, who has a line of basting glaze products sold at Fareway stores, will do the grilling.

Deery Brothers Summer Series silver anniversary and Karsyn’s Krusaders Kickin’ Cancer’s Butt One Lap At A Time T-shirts will be sold during the cookouts. All profits from the sales of Deery Racing Series T-shirts will be donated to Karsyn’s Krusaders, an organization that Deery is sponsoring this race season.

The donations are used toward helping support families that are battling cancer.
