NeSMITH CHEVROLET DLMS DELTA BOWL SPEEDWAY RACE ON APRIL 22-23 POSTPONED

CARTERSVILLE, GA – NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series and Delta Bowl Speedway officials have announced the postponement of the April 22-23 75-lap $5,000-to-win NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring race at the Tunica, MS 3/8-mile high-banked clay oval until later in the season.

Rainy weather has caused delays in the renovation of the track, which has not seen any action in many months, and both the series and the track want to put their best foot forward in hosting this event with everything operational and in place.

“We’re just one week away from the race, and it was questionable that the track could be ready in time to host an event of this magnitude, so we felt it would be in the best interest of everyone involved to postpone the race until later in the season,” NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Founder and Director Mike Vaughn said. “Calvin Shrader has worked hard to get the track ready for our event, and we appreciate his efforts, but the weather just caused too many delays to assure everything would be ready for a large event.”

With the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring event postponement, Vaughn said Shrader can continue to work toward getting the facility in top shape for its next scheduled event, a World of Outlaws Sprint Car show on Memorial Day May 30. Delta Bowl Speedway will also host an open practice this weekend.
