Bluegrass Speedway Tries Again with Full Racing Program on April 23

Bardstown, KY-April 17, 2011- After the initial attempt to get the 2011 season underway was rained out, Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell will try again to get the 17th season of dirt track racing underway at the ½ mile high-banked Nelson County clay oval this Saturday evening April 23 with a full racing program for all divisions.  

The season opening race program on April 23 will feature the 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models in a 25 lap, $1,000 to win feature event.  The Country 100.9 MIKE FM UMP Modifieds will race for $500 to win in a 20 lap feature event.  The UMP Sportsman will compete for 15 laps for $200 to win, while the UMP Street Stocks will race for $100 to win in a 12 lap main event.  For the April 23 event, the Super Late Models and UMP Street Stocks will time trial, while the UMP Modifieds and UMP Sportsman will pill draw for heat race starting assignments.

Activities at Bluegrass Speedway for the April 23 event will see all start times be one hour earlier.  The pit area will open at 3:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 4:00 p.m.  The drivers meeting will take place at 5:00 p.m., with practice set to begin at 5:30 p.m.  Time trials will get underway at 6:00 p.m., with racing set for the green flag at or before 7:00 p.m.  Ticket prices for the April 23 event in the general admission area will be $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, with children age 5 and under free.  A pit pass will be $25.
