Sunoco continues Deery Series cash awards, title sponsor role for IMCA Stocks, HobbiesLINWOOD, Pa. (April 18) – Sunoco Race Fuels continues putting cash in the pocket of drivers with perfect attendance in the Deery Brothers Summer Series.
Eligible drivers who qualify for the feature will be entered in a drawing for $250 at each IMCA Late Model tour event.
Manufacturer of the official fuel of IMCA, Sunoco will give another $2,000 in cash to be divided equally among drivers who compete at all events in the 25th annual series.
"With rising fuel costs, a cash bonus from a fuel company is a great way to offset that expense during the run of the series,” noted IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder. “Last year, every driver who participated generated an extra $535 through the program, with some drivers receiving close to $800. It is easy to qualify and an excellent incentive for drivers to attend every race and participate with Sunoco race gas."
Sunoco also returns as title sponsor for both the IMCA Stock Car and IMCA Hobby Stock divisions and will pay point funds for top 15 finishers in national point standings for each class.
National point fund for the Stocks is $5,000. The Hobby Stock point fund is $3,000.
Late Model, Stock Car and Hobby Stock drivers must display two Sunoco decals on their race car and compete with Sunoco race fuel or race gas to be eligible for cash awards or point fund money.
Sunoco has also renewed its sponsorship of the Stock Car Race of Champions held during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals and will provide the $2,000 purse for that Sept. 10 event.
"The divisions that run on race gas are the backbone of our full-bodied weekly program and Sunoco recognizes the importance of the drivers who take the time and effort to participate,” Yoder said. “We have been very satisfied with our relationship with Sunoco and plan on partnering with them for years to come."
