FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 20, 2011
KENNY SCHRADER TO HEADLINE FULL NIGHT OF RACING AT PIR
Paducah, KY - - - Paducah International Raceway will play host to another awesome night of dirtslinging action on Friday April 22nd. Nascar star and track co-owner Kenny Schrader will be on hand racing. Schrader has returned to the NASCAR circuit this year running in the top and leading some laps. Schrader always comes ready to race and gives the other racers a strong run no matter what division he’s racing in.
The fire breathing UMP Super Late Models will highlight the six division program. Nick Lyons of Centralia won the last event at the speedway and is expected back to defend his win. Jeff Walston, Kevin Cole, Tim Brown and Dylan Thompson gave Lyons a run for his money but were unable to overtake the Illinois speedster. Expected to also be in the mix for a win this week are local favorites (and father and son) Terry and Tanner English and longtime veteran Randy Sellars has also indicated he will be ready to race this week.
In the UMP Modified division, Justin Houston has been unbeatable. Randle Sweeney, Justin Storey, Steve Ladd and Jeff Elliot have shown strength this season. With more cars ready each week, this class is expected to be one of our strongest at the speedway this season.
The pro Late Models have seen 2 different feature winners so far this season with Ronnie Cooper winning week 1 and Jeff Glisson winning week 2. Defending track champion Cary King has been improving each week and the always tough Tait Davenport is showing early season power. Keep an eye on Troy English and Credence Mott in their new Barry Wright chassis.
In the UMP Street Stock division, Mike Watson and Tony Cruse have won the opening 2 features. Snake Hobbs , however, has been in the mix and will be challenging the field for feature wins.
The UMP 4 Cylinders have also had 2 different winners with Matt Hartman and Derek Patterson. Will one of them repeat or will Monty or Gail Edwards break through or will Last years Champion, Kyle Clark, finally break into the win column?
The High Scholl Warrior division has been dominated by Blake Martin so far this season. Will one of our young ones finally be able to beat him or will Blake win feature #3?
Pits open at 4pm, grand stands at 5 pm. Qualifying will start at 6:30 with racing starting at 7:00. All fans should plan to visit PIR for a full night of excitement .
