JASON WELSHAN DOUBLES-DOWN IN CROSSVILLE WINS BOTH FEATURES

Steve Hixson
Crossville, TN (4/23/11) --- Using a loaner power-plant, Jason Welshan (# 29) from Maryville, Tennessee topped both 25-lap Late Model features at the Crossville (TN) Raceway Saturday night. Pocketing a pair of $400. paydays, Welshan qualified 2nd over 20 other competitors and led all the way, before inverting the field for race #2. Starting 4th in the next feature the # 29 "ALOT LESS Factory Outlet, Jon's Golfcarts, Advantage Check Cashing, Ronald Sexton Construction Co, Smith's Auto Sales and Centerline Construction" sponsored WEEKS chassised / borrowed GM Performance Crate motor of Richard Harvey and Boyd's Speedway took the lead lap 10 for the teams 2nd win of the weekend. Friday nights win is still pending outcome of protest.

The Team-Kile group will have to wait on testing from B&B Motors after Boyd's Speedway local racer Robby Mason protested the validity of Welshan's Crate 604 engine. Results of the protest are expected to be in early next week. In the meantime, Welshan exclaimed with great pride, just how good the Harvey/Boyd's power-plant performed. "This thing ran better than mine!!!" stated Welshan late Saturday after coming down from the Tennessee Plateau track. "I talk to Harvey (whom frequents Crossville with his racecars) and he was very happy we won with his Crate motor." Welshan is planning on competing for the 2011 Boyd's Crate LM Track Championship and pending the outcome should be leading the points.
