MARS DIRTcar Series prepares for 2nd annual Sunflower State Showdown

The MARS DIRTcar Series returns to the Great American Dirt Track in Jetmore, KS for the 2nd Annual Sunflower State Showdown on April 30, 2011. This year's race will once again pay a whopping $10,000 to the winner and be sanctioned by MARS, NCRA, MLRA, CLMA and UMP. John Anderson of Omaha, NE successfully navigated lap traffic last year to become the Sunflower State Showdown's Inaugural Champion.

The A-Feature will be 50 laps. Total purse for this race is $40,000 with $10,000 going to the winner and $700 just to start. Top 16 in passing points qualify for the feature. There will be one provisional starter from MARS, NCRA and MLRA. Tire rule is WRS 55 only. A practice session will be held on Friday April 29th from 6:30pm – 9:30pm. Pits will open at 5:00pm and pit passes for Friday are $15. The Great American Dirt Track sits adjacent to the Jetmore Municipal Airport, 6 miles south of Jetmore, KS on US 283.
