BACK ON THE HORSE... JASON WELSHAN TOPS BOYD's CRATE LM's with BOYD’s POWER

Chattanooga/Ringgold (4/29/11) – When you get knocked off your horse, confusious say: get rite back in the saddle... Friday night at Boyd's Speedway on the TN/GA stateline thats just what Jason Welshan (# 29) from Maryville, Tennessee accomplished. Still using the loaner powerplant provided bt Richard Harvey (Boyd's Speedway co-owner), the FLYIN' WELSHAN brought his brigade of fans back with a vengance after being stripped of victory a week ago, due to a competitors protest. Pocketing the $800 victory, Welshan bested the field, even lapping up to 4th place, which included last weeks protestor/winner Robby Mason. The Team-Kile green/yellow # 29 "ALOT LESS Factory Outlet, Jon's Golfcarts, Advantage Check Cashing, Ronald Sexton Construction Co, Smith's Auto Sales and Centerline Construction" sponsored WEEKS chassised / GM Performance Harvey-602 Crate driver stated "We really wanna thank Richard (Harvey) again, our motor is still being corrected and he allowed us some extra time using this beast of power, I'm gonna hate to give it up, part in fear of having to beat it, under somebody elses hood..." Welshan plans on returning Saturday to the place of his last weekend double-victory Crossville (TN) Raceway. "We really want this Boyd's Championship this season, I don't know where that DQ places us in points, but I believe we can get back on top of the division." Welshan concluded, as always praising the good lord and his awesome team, whom with heavy hearts remembered the area's loss of life Wednesday when devistating storms ravaged the area of Ringgold/Chattanooga/Cleveland. Behind Welshan, was Kayne Hickman, 2010 Boyd's Crate Champion Craig Burrows and Jeff Smith.

When your hot, your hot.... and Late Model veteran Lamar Scoggins (# 32) of Georgetown, Tennessee has been on fire all season. Friday night Scoggins took a convincing flag-to-flag victory in the Boyd's Speedway Steel-head Late Model feature beating the field by over a half-track at the conclusion of the 25-lap "A" Main Feature. The $1,000 to-WIN race showcased the nights action and the # 32 "M&S Motors, Chambers Equipment Sales, Bodies by Rick Hixson" GRT / Race Engine Design team utilized the CAT-BIRDS SEAT after winning the 2nd heat race, in which the team started dead-last. FRONT ROW JOE for the feature with 1999 S.A.S champ Jamie Perry, Scoggins raced to the lead. Racing partner Rick Hixson would end up second after Perry fell from contention halfway thru the event. Tod Hernandez, Riley Hickman and Bobby Mayse would round out the Top-5 finishers. "This car is so good" claimed Scoggins "but all our friends and family make this really special" Scoggins started the 2011 season with a Top-5 finish in the Boyd's CABIN FEVER event, backing it up with a runner-up finish in the $3,000 to-WIN WINTER-FEST race at Winchester (TN) Speedway a few weeks later. Since then Scoggins has had multiple victories at Cleveland (TN) Speedway, but this is the first time the team's visited Boyd's victory lane. Next weekend the team will likely return and enter the Volunteer Racing series event vying for the $3,000 first place prize Friday night.
