Additional tour event, full list of sponsors announced for 2011 Dart Challenge SeriesSIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Dart Challenge Series for WISSOTA Late Models season opener is fast approaching and Series Director Rob Fogle is pleased to announce an extra date to the series schedule. In addition, 18 marketing partners have come on board to support drivers and fans making this year’s tour highly anticipated for all.
Promoter Nick Guthmiller of Brown County Speedway has added a second show on Wednesday, August 17. The first annual Larry Gerlach Memorial presented by Ken’s SuperFair Foods is planned as part of the annual Brown County Fair in Aberdeen, SD.
“Larry was a strong supporter of Speedway for many years and this date has been a Challenge Series date many times in the past,” Guthmiller said. “It’s only fitting that we honor him and his family with some of the best WISSOTA Late Model AMSOIL Dirt Track Series drivers from all over the Midwest.”

Joe Provo Racewear will award drivers a couple different ways during Challenge Series events this year. The driver who draws the pole position for each 40-lap feature will receive a $50 product certificate. In addition, a driver who finishes in the top 3 at each feature event will have a chance to receive a $50 product certificate. The winner of each feature event will randomly draw a position (first, second or third) and that positioned driver will receive the award.

Brown Engineering joins a new list of sponsors this year. The Aberdeen, MS based racing engine supplier who specializes in WISSOTA Late Model and Spec Engines will award a $50 cash prize at each event to the highest passing point’s driver from qualifying heat races. In the event it happens to be a current Brown Engineering driver, the award doubles to $100.
Besides the cash prize, Brown Engineering will award the top three finishers in the final 2011 point standings certificates good towards products or services. First place will receive a $500 certificate, while second place and third place receive $300 and $200 certificates, respectively. If a Brown Engineering driver finishes in one of the top three spots in this year’s point standings then their award will double to $1,000 for first, $600 for second and $400 for third.
