Bobby Labonte Racing Prepares for the DART Show-Me 100
Trinity, N.C. - Bobby Labonte Racing (BLR) is making their last minute adjustments to the Longhorn Chassis of Earl Pearson Jr. and Brad Neat as the two-car team owned by Bobby Labonte gets ready for the DART Show-Me 100 at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. With two outstanding performances in last year's event, BLR will be looking for not only a repeat performance but also a win.
"We are looking forward to racing at Lucas Oil Speedway again," said Jason Fitzgerald, team manager. "We have had a lot of preparation time for this event with all of the rainouts lately and we are ready for a win."
In last seasons event, The No. 44 Lucas Oil Dodge of Earl Pearson Jr. began the DART Show-Me 100 with a heat race win which put the veteran driver on the outside pole for the feature event. During the feature, he gave the fans a tremendous showing during the first half of the event, running in the top-five. As the night progressed, Pearson Jr. slipped back as his tires went away. He still crossed the finish line in a respective 13th position.
"Last year we had a great car during the heats and the first half of the feature," said Pearson Jr. "We will take what we learned and apply it to this weekend."
In 2010, the No. 41 Red Buck Cigars Chevrolet of Brad Neat was placed into third heat race where he raced his way to a third-place finish. He transferred directly into the feature. Starting 17th, Neat had his work cut out for him, but he was up for the challenge. Lap after lap, Neat picked off drivers passing both high and low to acquire the spots. At the finish, Neat crossed the line with a ninth-place finish.
"I'm really looking forward to this weekend's event," said Neat "Last year we had a great car but just started too far in the back. This year we're hopeful to start better in the feature so we're there in the end fighting for the win."
Starting Thursday evening, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) will hold an open practice for all competitors to test and tune their super late models for the weekend's events. On Friday, BLR will compete in the Red Buck Cigars Qualifying along with heat races and two special races. Then, on Saturday, the schedule includes the B-mains along with the 100-lap feature event that pays an outstanding $30,000 to win.
The DART Show-Me 100 will also be aired on CBS. Lucas Oil Studios will tape this weekend's event that will air on the CBS Sports Spectacular on June 19th at 5 p.m. Eastern.
