Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to Make Second Appearance at Wythe Raceway Saturday June 18thWAYCROSS, GA (June 11, 2011) - The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be making it's second appearance at the Fred Brown-promoted Wythe Raceway located in Rural Retreat, VA on Saturday Night, June 18th.
There will be a complete show for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series starting with the ApplianceZone.com driver's autograph session at 5 PM followed by Red Buck Cigars Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains and the $10,000 to win feature event. Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN won last year's first ever appearance for the series at Wythe.
Owens comes into this weekend's events as the new Lucas Oil Championship Points leader. Owens leads two-time series champ, Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN by 60-points. Don O'Neal of Martinsville, IN who won the latest series event at Florence (KY) Speedway on June 4th and the Eldora "Dream" is third in points followed by Steve Francis of Ashland, KY and Jared Landers of Batesville, AR.
Landers leads the Quarter Master Rookie of the Year Points Standings over Bub McCool of Vicksburg, MS; Tyler Reddick of Corning, CA; and Frank Heckenast Jr. of Frankfort, IL.
