The action begins tonight with a special 30-lap $1,500-to-win race at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN.
NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region competition returns to East Tennessee for the first time since May 14 tonight at 411 Motor Speedway, who will be hosting their first series event of the season.
The $1,500-to-win race has been on the track’s schedule for several weeks, and because of that, series officials have waved the $1,000-to-win maximum for Weekly Racing Series events for this race only. East Tennessee drivers will be looking to earn NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region points to work themselves back into the championship hunt.
Penton Raceway in Penton, AL will host a NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region event on Friday night, and Saturday night OMG East Region races are scheduled for Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL, New Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.
The top three drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region point standings are regulars at Talladega Short Track. Jimmy Elkins Jr. of Talladega, AL leads the OMG East Region points chase followed by Adam Gauldin of Talladega, AL and Brian Ponder of Talladega, AL.

Saturday night West Region events are scheduled for Drew County Speedway in Monticello, AR, Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, NEA Speedway in Harrisburg, AR, and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS.
NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region late Week 11 results saw Chandler Petty of Austin, AR grab his fourth win of the season on Saturday night at Drew County Speedway driving the Whistle Stop Barbeque Rocket. The top three drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region point standings are regular competitors at Whynot Motorsports Park. The 2008 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion Jim McDuffie of Meridian, MS leads Randy Boyd of Marion, MS and Justin McRee of Tuscaloosa, AL.
Drivers participating in NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series events compete for prize money at each event, and each track will pay out a point fund at the end of the season. Drivers are also competing for the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Regional point fund that pays $5,000 to the Champion and pays back through the top ten spots in each Region.
A driver’s Regional point total is made up of their best event point total on a weekly basis, plus bonus points earned by perfect attendance at a single track and participating in NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring events. The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series runs through October 2.
