by Alex Cummings
The stars of the Carolina Clash are making preparations for the series' first ever trip to the great state of Tennessee when the series rolls into Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN for a $5,000 to win showdown. The event will mark round 1 for the Tennessee vs. Carolina Brawl in which one lucky driver will walk away with a wrestling style championship belt.

"I'm excited to be hosting the first ever Carolina Clash race in Tennessee," said Phyllis Loven "The Carolina Clash is a great series with a lot of tradition behind it and I know the Tennessee drivers in our area will be vying for the win and wanting to keep the belt home in Tennessee."

So far this season, the Carolina Clash has seen 5 different drivers grace victory lane in 7 events with Luke Roffers being the only driver with more than 1 victory. Roffers currently has 3 victories including Saturday, June 11 at Fayetteville Motor Speedway. Other notable drivers with victories this season include Chris Ferguson at Carolina Speedway, Johnny Pursley at Lancaster Motor Speedway, Kenny Compton Jr. at Dublin Motor Speedway, and Dennis Franklin at 311 Speedway.

"It's been a very exciting 2011 season for the Carolina Clash thus far," said Larry Lee Jr. Owner of the Carolina Clash "This will be our series first time racing in Tennessee and I'm ecstatic."

Defending 2010 Carolina Clash Champion Dennis Franklin leads the championship points this year by just 7 markers over Luke Roffers. Both drivers have been in a close race from the onslaught of the 2011 season. Mike Gault who decided that in 2011, he was going to follow the Carolina Clash Series, has made his presence known with a runner up finish and the Safety Kleen Hard Charger of the Race Award both from Carolina Speedway. Gault has made his mark known this year with consistency and 5 Top-10 finishes in 7 events. Newcomer Kenny Compton Jr. who is in his first full season of competition with the Carolina Clash sits fourth in points and 5 consecutive Top-10 finishes in his last 5 events along with one win. 2009 Carolina Clash Champion Jeff Smith rounds out the Top-5 in points with one Safety Kleen Hard Charger of the Race Award and 5 Top-10 finishes.
