CARTERSVILLE, GA – Independence Day Weekend will be another busy one for the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series, as Week 14 will see 14 events over four days in five different states. There will be five events, including two NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring events, in the Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region, and nine events in the West Region.

Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL will host two Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region events over the holiday weekend with their regular Saturday night show, and a $1,000-to-win race on Monday night. The Saturday night race will count toward Week 14 Regional points, and the Monday night race will count towards Week 15 Regional points.

Drivers can earn up to 50 Regional points in their home region by participating in a pair of NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring events this Saturday night at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL for the $2,500-to-win “Stars and Stripes 50” and on Sunday night at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL for the $2,500-to-win “Salute To The Armed Forces 50.”

NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series drivers can earn up to 100 Regional Bonus points that are added to their 14-Week total one of two ways. They can earn 25 Regional Bonus points by competing in a NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring race, or they can earn 25 Regional Bonus Points for every four weeks of perfect attendance at a NeSmith Chevrolet WRS track.

New Senoia Raceway will also be in action on Saturday night with NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region competition. Jimmy Elkins Jr. of Talladega, AL leads the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Regional standings by 30 points over Adam Gauldin of Talladega, AL.

A full slate of NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Week 14 races can keep competitors in action for three straight nights. The West Region competition begins on Friday night with events at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR, Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS, and Malden Speedway in Malden, MO.

Saturday night West Region races are scheduled for Drew County Speedway in Monticello, AR, Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, NEA Speedway in Harrisburg, AR, and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS. Then on Sunday night, races are set for Centerville Speedway in Centerville, AR, and Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS.

Drivers participating in NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series events compete for prize money at each event, and each track will pay out a point fund at the end of the season. Drivers are also competing for the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Regional point fund that pays $5,000 to the Champion and pays back through the top ten spots in each Region.

A driver’s Regional point total is made up of their best event point total on a weekly basis, plus bonus points earned by perfect attendance at a single track and participating in NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring events. The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series runs through October 2.

The dirt late model race cars in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series are powered by the economical GM Performance Crate Engines that are built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications.
