2011 has seen the resurgence of Greenfield, Missouri's Rylan Long in the TNT Quick Shop Late Models as the former Lucas Oil Speedway Track Champion scored his fifth win of 2011 last week as part of the special Nemo Quarry Thursday Night Thunder Special Event. Long now holds a 64 point lead over 2-time and defending Lucas Oil Speedway TNT Quick Shop Late Model Track Champion Tommy Cordray out of Browning, Missouri. Neosho, Missouri veteran Chris Hawkins continues to have strong runs in his blue and white #60 has he sits solidly in the third spot. Engine gremlins have cost Larry Jones a large amount of points in recent weeks as the El Dorado Springs, Missouri veteran determined a faulty dry sump valve had been causing the issue. Jones sits in fourth in the season standings while Springfield, Missouri's Christopher Morelock holds down the final spot in the Top-5.
The closest race for the season championship is now in the Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds as Mickey Burrell out of Fair Grove, Missouri holds a tiny five point lead over youngster Chase Jones out of El Dorado Springs, Missouri. With a $1,500 top prize on the line for the season points championship, these will be tough drivers to watch in the coming weeks. Flemington, Missouri's John Fellers is only 54 points behind the leads and with 50 points on the line each race night, don't count out the veteran late model and modified driver from scoring his first Lucas Oil Speedway Championship. Terry Kirk out of Urbana and Josh Woody out of Waynsville, Missouri round out the Top-5 as 84 different A-Modifieds have visitied the Lucas Oil Speedway in 2011.
Billings, Missouri's James Flood holds a 33 point lead in the Carson's Corner Factory Stocks as defending Track Champion Randy Gilmore just can't seem to find any racing luck. With a new car on the way, and a vacation behind him, look for Gilmore to rebound with a vengeance as Flood, a former Lucas Oil Speedway Track Champion looks to continue to lead in his Ben Solberg owned machine. Everton, Missouri's Sundance Keepper continues to stalk the leaders in the third spot with his win last Thursday night on the slick but racey Lucas Oil Speedway racing surface. Chip Shaddox and Mike Bitner round out the top-5 in fourth and fifth respectively.
