Miller and Gaston split Lias Tire Twin 25 features at Marion Center Speedway

MARION CENTER, Penn. (July 16) - The Twin 25’s were back at Marion Center Speedway Saturday night for the Lias Tire Late Models. Two 25 lap features each paying $1500 to win were held and the drivers put on a fantastic show for the fans on W. G. Satterlee & Sons night.

In the first of two twenty-five lap features, Jeremy Miller came up from Maryland to race at Marion center Speedway for the first time this season and found himself in the pole position for the feature. Miller went on to lead all of the 25 laps to claim the top prize of $1500 and the W. G. Satterlee & Sons trophy. Gregg Satterlee started fifth and moved into second place by the third lap but that was as far towards the front as he could get and at times was battling with Sammy Stile to stay in second as Miller would distance himself from the pair as he could. When the checkered flag came out Jeremy Miller was the winner, Gregg Satterlee from Rochester Mills was second with Sammy Stile from Charleroi close behind in third. Rick Davis of Home moved up from eleventh to fourth and Rod Phillips too fifth. Another first timer to the track this season, Devon Freise from Chambersburg came next followed by Denton Boyer from Punxsutawney in seventh, Matt Gaston from Rochester Mills finished eighth, Bryan Force of Indiana was ninth and yet another first timer, Jared Hawkins out of West Virginia was tenth. Rounding out the field in order were: Mike Blose, Dave Blazavich, Jerry Redden, Matt Lux, John Poling, Wally Fox, Dane Laraway, Chad Helman, Newcome and Rich Howell.

Later in the evening the second of the Twin Twenty-Five Lap Features was run after giving the drivers a chance to make adjustments, refuel and catch their breath. Matt Gaston from Rochester Mills started on the outside pole and never let up to the final flag to collect $1500 and the W. G. Satterlee & Sons trophy. As was Miller in the first feature of the Lias Tire Late models, Gaston was also hounded throughout the race by the relentless Sammy Stile. Stile stayed on Gaston’s tail throughout the race looking for an opportunity to make a clean pass, but Gaston never let that door open. Stile finished second. An early crash in the race took Gregg Satterlee out of the competition as well as Denton Boyer so that left room for others to fill in and did they. Devon Freise capitalized on Satterlee’s demise and took third place, Jared Hawkins was fourth and Jeremy Miller, who started tenth, was fifth. Then came Matt Lux, Dave Blazavich, Wally Fox, Mike Blose and Dane Laraway for the top ten. Next in line were Chad Helman, John Poling, Newcome (4), Rich Howell, Rod Phillips, Bryan Force, Jerry Redden, Rick Davis, Satterlee and Boyer. The Lias Tire Late Model Twin Twenty-Five-Lap heat races were won by Gregg Satterlee, Sammy Stile and Jeremy Miller.
