Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at Brownstown Speedway for 32nd Annual Jackson 100 this WeekendWAYCROSS, GA (September 21) - One of the long-standing premier events in the Midwest is coming up this weekend at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown Indiana as the track hosts its' premier event, the 32nd Annual Jackson 100. The event sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will pay $20,000 to win and $1,200 to start. A great field of drivers is expected to enter this year's event that has always produced some thrilling racing action in years past.
On Friday Night, September 23rd the track will host Red Buck Cigar Time Trials for the Lucas Oil late Model Dirt Series along with a full racing program for Pure Stocks, Bombers and Super Stocks.
On Saturday Night, September 24th there will be Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Heat Races, B-Mains and the 32nd Annual Jackson 100. Also on the race program will be open wheel modifieds paying $1,000 to win.
The tight point's battle for the 2011 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Championship will continue this weekend as Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN and Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN. head to Brownstown Speedway. The battle has gotten intense with both drivers sharing verbal jabs at each other after the Winchester VA event this past weekend. With two victories over the weekend Bloomquist re-took the points lead from Owens and now leads by 30-points coming into the Jackson 100. Bloomquist is the defending winner of the race, where he recorded the 500th victory of his career a year ago.
Don O'Neal of Martinsville, IN, a former track champion at Brownstown holds down the third spot in the series point's standings. O'Neal along with Bloomquist, Billy Moyer of Batesville, AR and Jim Curry of Norman, IN have each won the Jackson 100 three times over their careers. Steve Francis of Ashland, KY coming off of a second-place finish in the LOLMDS USA 100 at Virginia Motor Speedway this past weekend is fourth in points followed by Jared Landers of Batesville, AR.
Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL the '09 Jackson 100 winner is sixth in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series points followed by Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY; John Blankenship of Williamson, WV; Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC and 15-year-old Tyler Reddick of Corning, CA.
