8th Annual Southern Belle Cotton Pickin’ 100 Early Entry Deadline Approaching

Columbus, Mississippi (10/19/11) The early entry deadline is rapidly approaching for the 8th Annual Southern Belle Cotton Pickin’ 100 at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi, which will be held on Thursday-Saturday, October 27th-29th, 2011. Competitors have until Saturday, October 22nd to file their early entry for the event. The early entry fee is $100. After this date, the entry fee will be $150. Competitors must file an early entry by mailing a check to Magnolia Motor Speedway, Highway 45 South, Columbus, MS 39701 or competitors at the 17th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic this weekend can give Johnny Stokes or any of his staff early entries.

The 2011 Southern Belle Cotton Pickin’ 100 will be headlined by a $15,000-to-win/$1,000-to-start, 100 lap Super Late Model event. Brian Birkhofer decimated the field to claim the Southern Belle Cotton Pickin’ 100 title in 2010 and will be back to attempt a repeat performance in 2011. He will face a field of competitors that includes many of the nation’s best drivers.

Crate Late Models will also be in action as they battle for $2,500-to-win/$150-to-start during the course of the event. The Street Stock division will be headlined by a $1,000-to-win/$75-to-start program.

The Mini Stock division will be in action as well as they compete for $600-to-win/$60-to-start with no entry fee.

Open practice begins Thursday night, October 27th at 7:00 PM for all divisions. Friday night will see preliminary action for the 8th Annual Southern Belle Cotton Pickin’ 100 as Super Late Models qualify and run heat races as they attempt to make the feature field. Crate Late Models will also qualify and run heat races. Street Stocks and Mini Stocks will also run their heats.

B-Mains for all divisions will be contested on Saturday night along with the 8th Annual Southern Belle Cotton Pickin’ 100 Championships. From 5:15pm to 5:45pm kids are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes as they will be allowed to trick or treat at the haulers in the pits. Racers please remember to bring candy for the kids.
