Corn Belt Clash Celebrates 2011 Top-10 Drivers & Announces 2012 Schedule

TAMA, Iowa (February 3)- Officials with the Corn Belt Clash Late Model Series were joined by drivers, teams and fans at the Meskwaki Bingo, Casino and Hotel to celebrate the 2011 season and the official crowning of Mt. Vernon, Iowa’s Chad Simpson as two-time Corn Belt Clash Late Model Series Champion along with the other members of the top-10 in the 2011 point standings.

The series’ new announcer, Kyle Bentley, MC’d the festivities and reminded the teams that the 2012 Corn Belt Clash season kick-off was only a ‘Kardashian-wedding’ away. In addition to his $3,000 CBC Point Fund Check, Simpson also received a $2,000 credit towards an engine purchase or freshen from Pro Power Racing Engines, an Aluminum Block courtesy of Dart, $950 in Certificates from Comp Cams, $200 in Certificates from Quarter Master, $600 from Cen-Pe-Co Lubricants along with a custom Hoosier Racing Tire Coat. In total, between cash and products, over $45,000 was awarded to the top-10 in points, making it the richest post-season to date for the Corn Belt Clash Series. Representatives from Cen-Pe-Co Lubricants, Wrap’d by Dynamic Decals and Kindl Business Solutions were also on hand. Door prizes from both the series and its supporting sponsors like Comp Cams, Kindl LLC, Out-Pace Racing Products were also given away. Series regular Jake Meier also won a banquet drawing for a $250 gift certificate from Comp Cams.

Series president Cam Granger spoke throughout the evening, thanking the series’ staff, teams and sponsors for all of their help and support on making the past season the most successful one to date. Granger also made the debut of the series 2012 schedule at the banquet, which includes stops at several new tracks for the series, as well as return trips to facilities the series has stopped at before. Before the close of the banquet, several rule and policy changes were announced as the passing point system will be used to determine feature line-ups and that the Kindll LLC Business Solutions Fast Dash would now become the ‘Kindll LLC Business Solutions Quick Six’ as the top-6 in passing points from the heat races would go to the ‘Quick Six’ to determine the starting position for the first three rows of the A with bonus points awarded to the winner of the ‘Quick Six’. “We are still working on several rule tweaks for the upcoming season,” stated Granger. “No big changes, just working with our teams and staff on a couple tweaks to help make things run smoother on all fronts this season. There are some TBAs in the schedule, which I normally don’t like have, to only release a partial schedule, but this will help our drivers and fans know what weekends the series will be in action,” declared Granger. “ A few of our tracks have let us move their dates around to help make it more friendly travel wise to our drivers, which I feel is a big part of the success of the CBC in multiple day shows.”  Any further rule and policy changes will be available on the Corn Belt Clash website in the upcoming weeks.
