Slocum 50 Deery is Saturday, April 7 at 34 Raceway by Bill Martin
WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (April 3) – Three thousand dollars is the top prize for the Saturday, April 7 Slocum 50 Deery Brothers Summer Series feature at 34 Raceway.
The IMCA Late Model tour event is held in memory of Brenton Slocum, track champion at West Burlington in 2004.
Pit gates open at 3:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps start at 6:15 p.m. and racing begins at 7 p.m.
Also on the Saturday program are 305 sprint cars, 4-cylinders and the mod lites. Spectator admission is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and students, and free for kids 10 and under. Pit passes are $30.
34 Raceway has hosted 45 previous Deery races, more than any other track. Winners there last season were Matt Ryan of Davenport and Andy Eckrich of Iowa City; Mark Burgtorf of Quincy, Ill., leads all drivers with seven wins at West Burlington over the course of his tour career.

The 26th annual tour now opens with a twice-rescheduled show at Farley Speedway on Friday, April 6. Night three of 21 series dates this season is Saturday, April 14 at Hamilton County Speedway in Webster City.
