Satterlee stays home and wins big in Late Model action at Lernerville



SARVER, PA (April 27) - Another Fast Friday of Fab Four Racing is in the books and some familiar names made stops in Sheetz Victory Lane!  Gregg Satterlee took the checkers in the Precise Racing Products DIRTcar Late Models as Opening Night feature winner Jared Miley battled Mercer’s Chiller Thriller winner Keith Barbara for second.  Kevin Bolland wisely took away Dave Murdick’s best line in turn two and then motored away for the win in the Diehl Auto Group DIRTcar Northeast Big Block Modifieds. Brian Ellenberger passed early leader Rod George on the highside and ran away with the Ti22 Performance DIRTcar Sprint feature that went green to checkered nonstop!  Corey McPherson ended the night the same way he did Opening Night; in Sheetz Victory Lane celebrating his second Millerstown Pic-A-Part DIRTcar Sportsman win of the season.

Sometimes even the most ardent Road Warriors need some good, home cooking and that’s exactly what Gregg Satterlee got Friday Night at Lernerville Speedway. Satterlee has hit the road on an aggressive schedule so far in 2012 and plans to continue doing so.  He’s already scored wins a Virginia Motor Speedway and Hagerstown, but admittedly struggled last weekend at a Lucas Oil Late Model Series race at Roaring Knob.  There was no struggling last night, however, as Satterlee scored his 14th career Late Model feature at the Action Track, passing Hall of Famer Dick Swartzlander and Dick Barton and tying World of Outlaws star Chub Frank.



Keith Barbara and Boom Briggs brought the field to the green with Briggs leading the first lap, but Barbara leading the next 16.  Satterlee had to put in work, but eventually got past veterans Mike Johnson and Lynn Geisler (riding a brand new Rocket strapped with a brand new Roush-Yates powerplant).  A lap 13 restart was the break Satterlee needed as he passed Briggs for second on the restart and then dove under Barbara exiting turn two to take the lead on lap 18.  Once at the point, Satterlee checked out as Keith Barbara tried to hold off Opening Night feature winner Jared Miley who came from 12th.  As Barbara and Miler waged battled for second, Satterlee cruised to Sheetz Victory Lane relatively unchallenged to win the Precise Racing Products DIRTcar Late Model feature.

Miley bested Barbara for second, while Briggs held on to finish fourth. Sarver’s own John Garvin Jr. and Ken Schaltenbrand crossed the stripe fifth and sixth.  Geisler had some obvious mechanical issues midrace, but salvaged a seventh place finish.  Bump Hedman, Matt Lux and Denton Boyer rounded out the Precise Top Ten.  Lynn Geisler, John Garvin Jr. and Mike Johnson won heat races; Chad Valone won the B-Main.
