Oldfield Wins 2011/2012 R2C Competition Filters Pro Dirt Series

The 2011/2012 R2C Competition Filters Pro Dirt Series has been won by Jamie Oldfield, with brother Warren Oldfield 2nd, Jay Cardy 3rd and Matt Goodlad 4th.

Jamie attended all twelve rounds in the 2011/2012 R2C Competition Filters Pro Dirt Series that started in October 2010, and concluded at the Perth Motorplex March 2011. The Series will be remembered as one of the most action packed to date, with the USA tour included in the schedule.

Jamie Oldfield set his own high standard for the R2C Competition Filters Pro Dirt Series, winning the first Round in a dominating start to finish display. Jamie easily won his two Heats, broke the 10 lap track record, created a new 6 lap record, won the top 6 (A) Dash, and led all 30 laps of the Feature race.

As every racer knows, there are highs and lows in every season, and Jamie didn’t find himself on the podium again until Round 5 in Albany, where he placed 3rd behind winner Brad Blake, with Warren Oldfield 2nd.

Before Round 6 at the Perth Motorplex at Kwinana Beach, which was also the “Sedan Muster”, Jamie finally got what he had been waiting for, his new Mastersbilt Late Model from the USA. Even with learning a new car and setup, Jamie was on the podium, with a 2nd place behind brother Warren, who was the current leader of the series.

The UltraTune Morley USA Invasion Tour was a great learning experience for all LMRA racers, and an absolute highlight of the R2C Competition Filters Pro Dirt Series calendar. While the professional American racers dominated the Tour, Jamie was the highest place Aussie on points.

Jamie Oldfield’s commitment and dedication to his Dirt Late Model racing career had seen him enjoying one of his most successful seasons yet, but now he was also armed with the equipment and knowledge to knock his younger brother off the top spot on the series ladder. Jamie Oldfield was a man on a mission!

After Oldfield claimed the last 3 Rounds with solid wins, he not only increased his lead in points, but made it absolutely clear that the immaculately presented green #51 UltraTune Morley Mastersbilt had successfully completed its mission.

Late Model Racing Australia would like to thank all 36 competitors, and their crews, that competed in the 2011/2012 R2C Competition Filters Pro Dirt Series. Late Model Racing Australia had a very successful season, and is looking forward to the 2012/2013 season with great anticipation.

Pro Dirt Late Model drivers are also welcome to join the Development Series, to test or improve setup/performance, or just to showcase their car, but they will be ineligible to earn any points for the series.

The dates for the 2012 Late Model Development Series are as follows:
