Springfield Raceway To Add Another MARS/MLRA Event As Casey's General Stores Summer Meltdown Hits Quick Quarter July 28by Ronnie Williams
Springfield,Mo.-When Jerry Hoffman and Doug Bland bought the Springfield Raceway they slowly started making some changes to the Quarter-Mile Oval.
Slowly working a few special events in it started with the John Kuntz Memorial with MARS Late Models. Then the Turkey Classic featuring Midgets and Sprint Cars in November. The Kuntz Event and the Turkey classic have become Springfield signature events along with the Bordertown Casino Octoberfast.
The next event became the Larry Phillips Memorial as that event had moved from I-44 Speedway to Springfield Raceway which features MARS and MLRA Challenge events in the Former NASCAR National Champions hometown as the very exciting weekly show has stretched out to different race fans as they leave with the WOW factor of that was great.
This season weather allowed the 1st ever March Madness in which the top drivers had to both race their way and shoot their way into the feature.
With 3 MLRA/MARS Late Model Challenge events scheduled for 2012,the fans left after the Kuntz Memorial wanting more.Well Springfield Raceway is not going to disappoint those fans as the 1st annual Casey's General Stores Summer Meltdown will be held on July 28th to give the local area regional Late Model fans of MARS and MLRA hopefully even more to talk about.
July 28th will be another Springfield Raceway Late Model challenge event along with a full show of Transport Graphics Points races as the Stars of MARS and the MARL do battle again.Your favorite Late Model drivers will go to battle in another 40 lap feature. So far Late Model winners in these co-sanctioned events have included MARS Champion Brad Looney(MARCH MADNESS) and MLRA Champion John Anderson (John Kuntz Memorial) while Jesse "The Undertaker" Stovall has provided action along with Justin Wells,Tony Jackson Jr.Terry Phillips,Will Vaught and many others do battle on the racy "Quick-Quarter" for this just added event.
