Pestka drives to his third IMCA Late Model win at Independence

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (May 19) – After a couple of no-start situations and a pair of restarts at the front end of the 25-lap IMCA Late Model feature, Luke Pestka drove to his first win of the season. Pestka, who started on the front row, led much of the event unchallenged.

In the waning laps, fifth row starter Tyler Bruening powered to the front and closed in on the leader. Lapped traffic in front of the leaders allowed Bruening to close, however it forced him to change lanes in the final corner. Bruening jumped to the high side while Pestka ran the bottom around the backmarker with Pestka holding on by half of a car-length to take the win. Dain Sires and Greg Kastli completed the top four.
