Southern All Stars back to East Tennessee for Big Daddy 500 at Smoky Mtn. June 16

HUNTSVILLE, AL (June 12, 2012)—The Southern All Stars will be back at it for two straight weekends in June, this time back to East Tennessee for another appearance at the Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN.
 
The Southern All Stars were rained out on Saturday June 9th at Talladega Short Track for the BJ Parker Memorial and that event has been re-scheduled for June 23rd, the weekend after Smoky Mountain.
 
The Second Annual ‘Big Daddy 500’ presented by Tennessee R.V. will be a 50-lap $5,000 to win Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series-sanctioned event to be held on Saturday Night June 16th. The NESMITH Crate Late Models, Street Stock’s and Modified Mini’s will be supporting divisions that night racing for their third points racing event of the season.
 
The Southern All Stars last raced at Smoky Mountain Speedway on April 14th when Vic Hill of Mosheim, TN claimed his second-career SAS victory, the prior win came in August of 2003. In addition to Hill’s $5,000 win in April, he has also claimed the Memorial Day Weekend special at Smoky Mountain Speedway on May 26th worth $4,000 and most recently a $4,000 victory at Wythe (VA) Raceway on June 2nd. The SAS has seen five different winners in six events held thus far with Randy Weaver of Crossville, TN the only repeat winner taking back-to-back wins on May 26/27 in Mississippi.
 
On Saturday June 16th the Pit gates will swing open at 3:00 pm and Grandstand/Tier Parking gates opening at 5:00 pm with Driver’s Meeting slated for around 6:30 pm. Adult General Admission is $15.00 with Pit Passes being $35.00.
