Boom Briggs Pumped Up for Firecracker 100 Weekend at Lernerville Speedway

Bear Lake, PA (June 27, 2012) Rick 'Boom' Briggs and the Boom Briggs Racing team have spent their 2012 season racing around their home town of Bear Lake, PA.  In the process, they have entered 13 events so far and have garnered nine top-ten finishes with a second place finish at Stateline Speedway's United Late Model Series (ULMS) event on May, 12.  Boom also has four third-place finishes, three at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, PA, including last Friday, and one at Little Valley (NY) Speedway.

'Work has really taken a toll on our racing schedule this year,' Boom said from his office in Bear Lake, PA.  'We would definitely like to be racing more this year but so far it hasn't been in the cards.  Our schedule will hopefully pick up in the coming weeks and it starts off this weekend at the Firecracker.'

Despite his limited track time in 2012, Briggs feels his chances are just as good as anyone's to have a strong finish at this weekend's Sixth Annual Firecracker 100 presented by GottaRace.com.  'The added bonus of running such a limited schedule so far this season is that our stuff (equipment) is still pretty fresh.  Most of the guys that will be there have been racing since early February, we weren't able to go to Florida Speedweek this year and that saved us some wear and tear on the car.'  Boom continued, 'We're pretty excited about this weekend coming up, we're comfortable with the car and we've been running up front consistently, hopefully we can come out of the Firecracker with a couple solid finishes to help build momentum for the rest of the season.'

Briggs will kick off his Sixth Annual Firecracker 100 weekend this Thursday and Friday, June 28 & 19 with two full World of Outlaws Late Model Series shows that will pay $6,000 to the winners.  The Firecracker 100 weekend will end with a mammoth $30,000 to-win, 100-lap World of Outlaws Late Model Series main event on Saturday, June 30.
