Johnny Pursley Scores Podium Finish at Wythe Raceway

Clover, South Carolina (09/26/12) – On Saturday evening Johnny Pursley piloted his #09 Pursley Grading/Mastersbilt Super Late Model to a third place finish at Wythe Raceway with the Carolina Clash Super Late Model tour.

The Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series rolled into Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, Virginia) on Saturday night for a $4,000-to-win event, which drew a field of twenty-five competitors to the 1/2 mile oval.  Johnny qualified in the tenth starting spot for the feature via preliminary action.  Early in the feature he quickly worked his way forward in the field as he pressured early leader, Zack Mitchell for the top spot.  After battling for the lead for about five laps the caution would fly, and on the ensuing restart Johnny slipped back a spot to third.  Pursley would run third for the remainder of the feature, and that's where he would finish behind race winner race winner, Luke Roffers, and Zack Mitchell.

"We really didn't need that caution because it broke my momentum, but it was still a good outing for us.  Hopefully we can pick up one or two late-season victories in the coming weeks," noted Pursley.
