19 Races at 13 different tracks highlight 2013 SLMR Series Schedule... The SLMR Series is proud to announce their 2013 Schedule which includes 19 races at 13 different tracks in four different states. Just added is the return to the Riviera Raceway in Norfolk on Saturday, August 3 The series which will be entering its sixth season has released its most aggressive schedule yet, with the series visiting more tracks (13) than in any previous year. First time tracks on the SLMR schedule in 2013 include; the Beatrice Speedway, Eagle Raceway, Mid-Nebraska Speedway and Thunder Hill Speedway. Also, the series will be returning to the Butler County Speedway for the first time since 2010. The series will kick off their 2013 racing season on Sunday, April 28 with a return to the newly-opened Butler County Speedway near Rising City, Nebraska.

NeSmith Chevrolet WRS at Tennessee Nat’l Raceway… Tennessee National Raceway in Hohenwald, TN has signed on with the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series beginning fulltime during the 2014 season, with an option to join in 2013 with sufficient interest from competitors. Tennessee National Raceway will give their Late Model competitors an option to run under NeSmith Chevrolet WRS rules in 2013. Drivers will also compete for a Track Point Fund, and a National Point Fund that pays back ten spots and awards the National Champion with a $10,000 prize.

Ice Bowl XXII just a few weeks away… Officials with the Talladega Short Track have announced further details regarding the Ice Bowl XXII on January 3-6, 2013 The Super Late Models will once again headline the racing weekend with a 50-lap $6,000 to win event and the Crate Late Models will compete for a $3,000 to win / $250 to start event. The Sportsman (Limited Late Models) will be gunning for $2,500 to win / $200 to start. The Super Late Models and Sportsman will be officiated by the Southern All Stars crew for the weekend, the registration and tech will occur at the SAS trailer and series officials will be on hand to help with the weekend’s events.

Third Annual Silver Dollars Nationals will be bigger yet... The best of the best will be returning to I-80 Speedway for the Third Annual Silver Dollar Nationals (SDNIII) to be held from July 18 thru 20, 2013. Once again the race will be co-sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA). Last year, Muscatine, Iowa’s Brian Birkhofer held off Scott Bloomquist to take home a check for $26,000. This year SDNIII will be part of the nine race Crown Jewel Cup of Lucas Oil races. Qualifying for the Super Late Models will once again feature the popular Double Qualifying Heat Races for each participant. There will be no Time Trials. The 80 lap feature will pay $27,000 to win and $1,300 to start. In addition, there is the Belt Bash non-qualifiers race which could pay as much as $2,700 to won. With Lucas Oil and MLRA returning to sanction the event, many of the nation’s best Dirt Late Model drivers will be on hand for SDNIII.

SAS adds April 6th date at Tazewell Speedway… Officials with the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series has announced addition to the 2013 schedule. The SAS Late Models will visit the Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, TN for the first of three season visits on Saturday April 6th paying $5,000 to win / $300 to start for the Fourth Annual Charles Trammell Memorial event. With the addition of the April date at Tazewell, this brings the series schedule to 21 events, the first time since 2008 the series will run a 20+ season schedule. The 2013 Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series campaign begins on Sunday Afternoon March 3rd at the Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC for the running of the annual ‘March Madness 60’ event paying $10,000 to win.

LaSalle Speedway Releases 2013 Major Events… Action kicks off in high gear as LaSalle Speedway will once again host the annual season-opening ‘Spring Thaw Brawl’ set for March 28-30 and hosting the ALMS Late Models in a $10,000 to win main event.. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series roars into LaSalle for the ‘Spring Shootout’ during the weekend of May 10-11 battling in a $10,000 to win showdown.. And fireworks will be boom in the sky and sparks will be flying on the track Thursday July 4th as the UMP Summer Nationals makes its stop at LaSalle Speedway. The drivers on the 2013 ‘Hell Tour’ will slug it out at high speed in the ‘Independence 40’..

Virginia Motor Speedway adds Fastrak Pro Late Model division… Virginia Motor Speedway are pleased to announce that the Fastrak Pro Late Models have been added to the Virginia Army National Guard Dirt Series lineup for the upcoming season. For 2013, the Pro (Crate) Late Models will compete in a race within a race as they will be paired with the tracks very successful Victory Lap Late Model division. Both divisions will race at the same time with there being a Late Model and Crate Late Model winner each week. As an added bonus the crate late model competitors will receive both late model and crate late model points to go towards the 2013 championships.

Smoky Mountain Speedway has plans for a huge 2013… Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee opens the 2013 season with some of the biggest races in the track's recent history. Some events on the schedule that should catch some attention include a visit by the World of Outlaws Late Model Series on Friday, April 26th for the first time since 2004 as well as Ray Cook's Spring Nationals on Saturday, April 13th for the 4th stop of their inaugural 10 race tour. The SAS Late Models on tap for the season opener on Saturday March 23rd for a $5,000 to win rumble.

Eriez Speedway Rejoins New Era for FASTRAK Northeast… Bob Rohrer and the Staff and Management at the 3/8th mile Eriez Speedway clay oval happily announced that after night #1 of the FASTRAK Northeast meetings being an absolute success, they will for the 3rd consecutive year stay on board with the FASTRAK Racing Series in the Northeast Region and help usher in the NEW Era for that area beginning in 2013. “Our game plan for 2013 and with FASTRAK racing is to have our weekly racing program on Sunday nights but also our plans are to bring in 2 or 3 FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series events and if we have a good season, we at season’s end plan on having a BIG $5,000 to win FASTRAK (crates) Late Models finale.” Series officials are diligently working on schedules and securing more member tracks in the days and weeks ahead.
