DUNCAN CHARGES TO HILLTOP L.M. WIN; ARONHALT STORMS TO MODIFIED CHECKER FLAG; GARDNER WINS 41st FEATURE

MILLERSBURG, OH (May 4) - Millersburg's Charlie Duncan has been knocking on victory circles door all season long and Saturday night it finally opened as he won the dash to start on the pole of the feature and then beat Ty Myers into turn one at the start and then led all the way aboard Hall's Auto Sales, Sluss Realty and Malcuit engines #240 for his first win of the year. As Duncan would enlarge his lead on each lap, Ryan Markham challenged Myers for second and they would go back and forth until Markham grabbed second for good on lap 17. A caution on lap twenty would bunch the field together and Markham would make a run on Duncan on the restart but came up short as Myers held on to third with JR Gentry, who was driving the #83 of Justin Patterson, finishing fourth as Brad Malcuit held off Dzugan Fire & Rescue fast qualifier George Lee for fifth. Wayne Maffett Jr. posted his second heat win of the season.

Jesse Wisecarver had won the first four Raceday Photo Modified races and was looking like he was on his way to another win after taking the point from Lance Elson on lap three of the feature. Anthony Kinkade and dash winner Elson battled for second until lap eight when fast qualifier Norm Aronhalt and heat winner Kevin Morehouse moved past Elson. A caution flag with five to go put the field in single file and on the restart Aronhalt and his Service Welding and Dari Hut #309 went to the highside and made quick work of Kinkade and then rocketed by Wisecarver coming out of turn four with four to go to pocket his first win of the year. Kinkade held off Morehouse for third as Robin Duston filled out the top five. Vic Hottinger also picked up a heat win.

Heat winners Brandon Gardner and Steve Wolford paced the Street Stock feature to the green flag and it was Miamisburg's Brandon Gardner taking control with last week's winner, Kyle Moore, sliding into second. Gardner and his Schaffer Oil, Innovative Graphics and GLR #27g built up a comfortable lead and drive to his third win of the season and his 41st all time victory at Hilltop. Moore was challenged late by Ryan Wisecarver for second but held on as Wolford took fifth and John Wilson out dueled Bob Chilcote for fifth.

Dustin Daugherty was looking for his second win of the season as he led the way for the opening three laps of the Thompson's Garage Mini Stock feature but it was Wooster's Brad Hensel slipping the Sportsman Bar and DJ Directional Services #28 to the top spot at that point and then held off Daugherty the rest of the way for his first win. Eighth starting Jerry Adkins moved past Billy Parsons with two to go for third as Gary Hensel Jr. claimed fifth. Daugherty, Hensel and Parsons topped the heats.

The Bugs-R-Gone Trucks heat winners of Rolly Heyder and Cole Lillibridge start on the front row with Heyder leading the first lap and Lillibridge taking over from there with Kevin Potts and John Large racing for third. A caution flag on the white flag lap would make it a one lap shoot out and as the field took the green flag, Heyder would pull up beside Lillibridge and as they came out of turn two made contact but kept going and as they came to the finish line Heyder was shown the black flag for rough driving giving the apparent win to Lillibridge but his truck did not pass post race inspection, giving the win to Sunbury's Potts and his Tickets Galore, Welders on Wheels and Proscape Landscaping #8k. John Large, Tom Garlick, Jim Large and Travis Winterringer rounded out the top five.

Colliers WVa's Phil Bubeck went flag to flag to pocket his second Mini Wedge victory of the season as Blake Morris ran second with Braxton Wilson, Tristen Brown and Chase Settles filling out the top five. In the second feature Jeromesville's Hannah Rose led all the way with Zoe Stafford, Nick Large, Caiden Black and Noah Bubeck trailing. Morris, P. Bubeck and Brown won the heats.

Starting next Saturday, racing will begin at 7:30 pm at Hilltop Speedway with Hot Laps and Qualifying at 6 pm at it will be another regular show with the Modlites returning to action. On Saturday, May 18th, the ADRA Late Models will roll into Hilltop Speedway with a $2,000 to win show.
