Lucas Oil Series Events at Portsmouth Raceway Park Have Been Canceled

PORTSMOUTH, OH (July 5) - Officials of Portsmouth Raceway Park and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series made the decision to cancel tonight's "Independence 50" at Portsmouth Raceway Park due to rains continuing throughout the remainder of the evening and night.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will make its return to PRP on Labor Day weekend, with the annual Portsmouth "River Days Rumble" on Saturday, August 31st. The event will include RED BUCK Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and the 50-Lap, $10,000-to-win main event. For more information on Portsmouth Raceway Park, log onto www.portsracing.com.

The series will return to action next weekend with a pair of Midwest show-downs. On Friday, July 11th, the series heads to Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL and then heads to the "Diamond of the Dirt Tracks", Lucas Oil Speedway for the annual "Diamond Nationals" on Saturday, July 12th.
