RAIN FORCES POSTPONEMENT OF GREENVILLE NeSMITH CHEVROLET DLMS RACE UNTIL SUNDAY
GREENVILLE, MS Rain on Saturday night forced postponement of the 50-lap $5,000-to-win 7th Annual Gumbo Nationals for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series until Sunday afternoon. The rain began to fall on Saturday night just as the cars were lining up to begin the main event.
On Sunday, the pit gate will open at 1 p.m. with the Drivers Meeting set for 1:30 p.m., and hot laps will begin at 2 p.m. The NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series 50-lap $5,000-to-win main event will be the first race of the afternoon.
The Ride For Life activities to benefit the local chapter of the American Cancer Society will take place after all of the feature events during the afternoon have been completed. The drawings and auctions for the ride in the two-seat dirt late model race car will be made at this time, with the winning race fans getting their six-lap rides at race speed right after the auctions.
The NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series did get in their two 10-lap B-Main races with Kyle Bronson of Brandon, FL in the Brandon Ford Warrior and Brent Barrett of Cleveland, MS in the Custom Spraying, Inc. GRT taking the wins.
