NILMS ADDS HESS TECHNOLOGY, MCGUNEGILL ENGINE PERFORMANCE TO TEAM
UPLAND, IN (Nov. 29, 2013) – The snowballs are rolling in portions of northern Indiana right now following a Thanksgiving week storm. That is the perfect metaphor for the new Northern Indiana Late Model Series. NILMS officials have put two more pieces in place for the inaugural season. Hess Technology, Plato, Minn., is now on board as a sponsor. Plus, Cody and Nathan Hess will design and advise on the NILMS Website and souvenir apparel. McGunegill Engine Perfomance, Muncie, Ind., will be the series authorized engine rebuilder and engine tech adviser. “Both are well known in the racing community and we are honored to have them part of the series,” NILMS president Phillip Worrick said. “With this being a series NILMS needs to align with quality and fairness, our two main characteristics we want to have in place.” Hess plans to have the Website operational in the next couple weeks and the first run of NILMS t-shirts ready still in time for last-minute Christmas shopping. “Those are two significant goals we had that we will reach,” Worrick added. NILMS and McGunegill will be working closely to keep the GM 602 and 604 engines to the crate and NILMS standard s. “McGunegill’s reputation is impeccable,” Worrick said. “They have crate engines in and are allies with nearly two dozen series around the country. That continues to gain steam because of their quality and adherence to rules.” Hess Technology can be found online hesstechnology.com/2014 and on Facebook and Twitter. MEP is online mcgunegillengines.com and also on Facebook.
The Northern Indiana Late Model Series is supported by C.J. Rayburn Race Cars. Follow the series on Facebook and Twitter @NILMSCrates. More than 20 race teams already are committed to NILMS. The series rules, Website and 2014 schedule are coming soon.
