Alberson posts pair of top 10 finishes at Carl Trimmer Classic to close 2013

LAS CRUCES, NM (December 5) - Garrett Alberson entered his final two events of the 2013 campaign over the weekend in his #43 Deetz Racing/Batteries Plus Bulbs/Mastersbilt with a trip to Tucson International Raceway (Tucson, Arizona) for the annual Carl Trimmer Classic, which was sanctioned by the Championship Dirt Motorsports (CDM) tour.

On Saturday night a field of 29 entries registered for competition in the $2,500-to-win event, and Garrett started his night by finishing 2nd in his heat race to earn a spot in the dash. A 3rd place finish in the dash locked him into the 3rd starting spot for the evening's finale. Garrett battled at the front of the pack throughout the feature before registering a 2nd place finish to race winner, RC Whitwell.

Sunday afternoon drew the weekend and the season to a close as a $5,000 top prize was posted for the 44 lap finale at the 3/8 mile oval. A 4th to 2nd run in his heat race sent Alberson to the dash, where he finished 4th to earn the 4th starting spot for the main event. The feature didn't treat Garrett so well as he was running 5th during the early stages, when he was spun by another competitor, which forced him to the tail of the field. He would rebound to finish in the 8th position.
