Rick Eckert Pilots Warrior House Car at SMS; Hagerstown Opener Ahead YORK, PENN (March 12) - Rick Eckert, of York, Pennsylvania, accepted an invitation to drive Sanford Goddard's #1G Warrior House Car on March 7-8 at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee. The National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) presided over the inaugural 'Tennessee Tipoff Classic,' which kicked off on Friday night with a $7,500 to win showdown. Rick posted the tenth fastest time in Group A during time trials and later grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the seventh row in the 40-lap main event, Rick hung around his starting spot throughout the distance and wound up fifteenth in the final rundown.
On Saturday evening at Smoky Mountain, a $12,500 top prize was on the line in the NDRL weekend finale. "Scrub" started off his night by knocking down the twelfth quickest lap in Group B during qualifying prior to running sixth in his loaded heat race. Unfortunately, Rick's night ended in the B-Main after he finished a couple of spots shy of a coveted transfer position into the 60-lapper. Complete results from the two-day 'Tennessee Tipoff Classic' can be accessed online at

Next up for Rick will be a trip to the legendary Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland this Saturday, March 15 for the Dirt Capitol 'Grand Opening Special.' The Late Models will run a 25-lap main event at Hagerstown and the winner will receive a $2,500 payday. Rick is scheduled to pilot Paul Crowl's #7 machine in the unsanctioned program this weekend.
