Rick Eckert Third in WOOLMS Points Following Rare Trip to Razorback State

YORK, PENN (April 3) - Rick Eckert Racing traveled west to the states of Texas and Arkansas with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series on March 28-29 for a pair of $10,000 to win battles. On Friday night, the Lonestar Speedway in Kilgore, Texas was scheduled to host the national touring series, but heavy rain halted the program prior to hot laps. Rick Eckert and his #24 team then ventured to I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas on Saturday evening and 39 competitors piled into the pit area.

Rick started off his night by clicking off the fourth fastest lap in Group B during qualifying prior to picking up the win in heat race action over Brandon Sheppard, Billy Moyer, Jr., and Timothy Culp. After drawing the fourth starting spot before the 50-lap feature went to green, "Scrub" ran as high as second in the running order. Unfortunately, Rick was involved in a lap 18 red flag for a multi-car incident, but was able to complete all fifty circuits to salvage a twelfth place performance. The York, Pennsylvania hotshoe now finds himself third in the latest version of the WOOLMS point standings following the rare trip to the Razorback State. Full results from I-30 Speedway can be viewed online at www.woolms.com.

The #24 team was slated to stay out on the road with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, but the annual running of the 'Illini 100' at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois, which was scheduled for April 4-5, was postponed yesterday due to inclement weather. Instead, Rick has made the long journey back home and will enter Paul Crowl's #7 machine in Saturday's $2,000 to win program at the legendary Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland. Rick picked up a $2,500 payday at Hagerstown back on March 15 and is two-for-two in the win column aboard Crowl's Rocket racecar.  Additional information on Saturday's show can be accessed by clicking on www.dirtcapitol.com.
