Mark Dowdy Racing’s Dustin Stutts Captures Win at Tennessee National Raceway, Houston Hinton scores a Top-10

WATERLOO, AL (April 8) –  The Mark Dowdy Racing Team was in action at the Tennessee National Raceway with Dustin Stutts in the Killer Chassis #102 and Houston Hinton in his #22 Rocket Chassis. Mark was sitting idle with no show on the schedule for the weekend.
 
Saturday night started off with Qualifying, Houston Hinton would put his Dowdy Welding & Fabrication, Liquid Nitro car in the 9th position and Dustin Stutts put his Express Med, Fayetteville Monuments ride in the 3rd position for the feature event.
 
As the feature took the green flag both drivers fell into position and started to get re-acquainted with their rides after a long off season. After settling in, it was just a few laps into the race when Stutts started his march to the front. On lap 5 he ducked under the #c66 of Oakley Johns for the second position and began to chase down the leader. At the halfway point of the 20 lap feature Stutts had caught the leader #B20 of Boone Fullwood. Stutts then made his move exiting turn 4 to blast past the leader and assume the lead himself. From there Stutts would lead the rest of the way by 5 car lengths over the Johns, Steven Holcomb & Carnell Parker to capture the victory. While all this was going on up front Hinton had a good little race himself picking up one position to finish in the eighth spot.
 
In Victory lane Stutts said "This Killer race car had some awesome forward bite tonight". He went on to thank Tony Stutts, Keith Russ & Mark Dowdy for all their help putting this ride together during the off season.
