Another Top Ten Lucas Oil Series Performance for Ray Cook at Ark-La-Tex Speedway BRASSTOWN, NC (April 9) - The MasterSbilt House Car team and driver Ray Cook were back in Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series competition on Saturday evening, April 5 at Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, Louisiana. Ray started off his night by clicking off the second fastest lap in Group A during the qualifying session and he later finished second in his heat race behind only prelim victor Eddie Carrier, Jr. After starting the $10,000 to win feature event from the inside of the fifth row, Ray put forth another solid showing in the 50-lap race. In front of a huge crowd in the series' first-ever stop at Ark-La-Tex Speedway, Ray battled inside of the top ten before eventually claiming a ninth place performance aboard his Optima Batteries / Seubert Calf Ranches / Superior Cleaning / Tommy Pope Construction / A+ Moving & Storage #53 MasterSbilt mount.
Unfortunately, the rest of the weekend was a wash for the cars and stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Both $10,000 to win showdowns - scheduled for Friday at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, Mississippi and for Sunday at Outlaw Motorsports Park in Muskogee, Oklahoma - succumbed to inclement weather. Ray, who hails out of Brasstown, North Carolina, emerged from the April 4-6 weekend tied for sixth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings. Full results from Saturday's tilt at Ark-La-Tex Speedway can be accessed online at

With the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series enjoying a weekend off on April 11-12, Ray will take the opportunity to drive sponsor Tommy Pope's MasterSbilt racecar in a pair of weekend events in the states of Tennessee and Georgia. On Friday night, the Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tennessee will be the track of choice, as a $10,000 top prize will be on the line in a World of Outlaws Late Model Series extravaganza. The doubleheader weekend will then conclude on Saturday evening at the historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia with the annual 'Spring Championship,' which boasts a $2,000 winner's check.
