Davenport Speedway announces 2014 schedule; kicks off season with Deery Series
 
DAVENPORT, IA (April 10) – DRT TRAK Racing Inc., is back as promoter at the Davenport Speedway in 2014 and has a schedule that is sure to please any stock car fan.
 
The season will blast out of gates on Friday, April 11th when the Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA Late Models makes their first of two 2014 appearances. IMCA Modifieds, DTR Street Stocks, IMCA SportMods, and 4-Stocks will also be competing on the quarter-mile track.
 
The high speed excitement moves over to the half-mile track on Friday, April 18th, for the Midwest Sanction Showdown. Two different late model series will take part in the event, the Cornbelt Clash Late Model Series and the MARS DirtCar Series. The late models will be joined on the track by the Modifieds and DTR Street Stocks.
 
The chase for the Davenport Speedway 2014 track championships begin in earnest, on April 25th, at the Koehler Electric Season Opener. All five weekly classes: Petersen Plumbing and Heating IMCA Late Model, EMS IMCA Modified, Koehler Electric Street Stock, Hawkeye Auto IMCA SportMod, and Roto-Rooter 4-Stocks, will be in action.
 
The Lucas Oil MLRA late models will make their first ever visit to the Davenport Speedway on Friday, May 9th. The race will be co-sanctioned by the Cornbelt Clash Late Model Series, as the open late models tackle the quarter-mile oval.
 
For the third straight year, the Davenport Speedway will offer $2,000-to-win specials for each of our weekly support classes. The IMCA Mod Madness will be held on May 23rd, with the Sport Mod Challenge on June 13th.  The Street Stock Clash will take place on the Fourth of July, and the 4-Stock 50 will be August 8th.
 
Other special events for the 2014 racing season at the Davenport Speedway include the Night of Destruction on Saturday, September 13th, and the All-Star Classic on September 20th.
 
Racers will get a chance to try out their new rides for the 2014 season. An open practice will be held, on Thursday, April 10th.  
 
The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street in Davenport, Iowa. Pit gates will open at 4:30pm, grandstand at 5:00pm, with hotlaps at 6:30, and racing at 7:00pm.
