Tyler Erb Flirts with Victory at Baton Rouge in P&W Sales SUPR Competition

MAGNOLIA, Texas (May 1) – 17-year-old, Tyler Erb has experienced more than his fair share of bad luck early in the season in his #91 Erb Racing/Rocket by Litton Super Late Model, but on Saturday night things finally took a turn for the better as he led several laps of the feature before recording a strong second place finish.

Tyler Erb was back in action on Saturday night with the P&W Sales Southern United Professional Racing (SUPR) Super Late Models tour at Baton Rouge Raceway (Baker, Louisiana).

Tyler earned enough points by winning his heat race to lock in the pole position for the finale with Jeff Chandler alongside. Erb took the race lead at the drop of the green flag and set the pace before Chandler got by for the top spot on lap six. Tyler regained the lead from Chandler shortly after, but third starting Jon Mitchell would slip by Erb just past the midway point of the 40 lap affair. Mitchell would go on to claim the win, while Erb settled into a second place finish, which marked his best finish of the 2014 campaign thus far. Rob Litton, Robbie Stuart, and Patrik Daniel rounded out the top five finishers.

This Saturday, May 3rd Tyler Erb will look to claim his first victory of the season as well as make up ground in the series standings as he follows the P&W Sales Southern United Professional Racers (SUPR) Super Late Model tour to Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) for a $2,500-to-win program.
